Japan June ABS resins exports jump 13% from May

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan exported a total of 10,372 tonnes of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resins, representing a 13% increase from May, data from an industry association showed on Wednesday.

Compared to the same period last year, overseas shipments of the material declined 20%, according to Nihon ABS Jushi Kogyokai.

Domestic ABS shipments in June, meanwhile, increased 22% month on month to 20,291 tonnes. More than a quarter of the total at 5,769 tonnes went to automotive applications, reflecting a 54% surge from May, according to the data.
