SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) is operating its 500,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Mailiao at full capacity, a company source said on Thursday.
Although the operating rate has hit 100%, export volumes remain limited, the source added.
“We only restarted the plant in mid-July so we lost [a] half-month of production and that is why our supply volume is still limited," said the source.
FPC announced its benchmark PVC offer at $1,120/tonne CFR (cost and freight) China and India on Wednesday.
Its offer to India was revised from $1,120/tonne CFR to $1,150/tonne CFR on Thursday, the source said.
Its free on board (FOB) offer remains at $1,050/tonne, the source added.
