SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics is running its four monoethylene glycol (MEG) units at Mailiao normally despite a fire at a hydrogen pipeline in the vicinity on Tuesday evening , a company source said on Wednesday.

“We are running the four units at 85-90%. The fire is small, so there is no impact on the MEG units now,” the source said.

However, MEG offers rose by $10/tonne (€6.90/tonne) to $1,220/tonne CFR (cost & freight) CMP (China Main Port) in the morning and a deal was heard done at $1,220/tonne CFR CMP, although the details were unavailable, traders said.

Nan Ya has a combined MEG capacity of 1.8m tonnes/year in Mailiao.
