HOUSTON (ICIS)--ExxonMobil and US-based Honeywell's petrochemicals engineering and technology division, UOP, have formed a marketing and licensing alliance for lubes and advanced fuels hydroprocessing technologies in the refining sector, ExxonMobil said on Wednesday.
The alliance brings together ExxonMobil’s hydroprocessing technology for producing base oils for use in motor oil with UOP’s hydroprocessing technology to produce high-quality feedstocks for lubricants, ExxonMobil said.
It will also include ExxonMobils’ fuels dewaxing technologies, the US-based energy and chemicals major added.
“This alliance will offer a host of optimised solutions to fuels and lubes refining customers by combining the complementary hydroprocessing technologies of both ExxonMobil and UOP in one comprehensive package,” said Theodore Wojnar, president of ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company.
Financial details were not disclosed.
