HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based industrial gas producer Air Products will provide Shell Oil's Deer Park refinery in Texas with hydrogen through its Gulf coast hydrogen pipeline supply network, Air Products said on Monday.
Air Products will begin supplying the hydrogen in 2013, after the company completes its 180-mile (290-km) long pipeline extension.
The project, which Air Products announced in 2010, will connect the company's Texas hydrogen system to its Louisiana hydrogen system, resulting in the world's largest hydrogen plant and pipeline supply network, the company said.
Hydrogen is used in refineries to remove impurities in crude oil.
