HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories were down slightly in the first week of August, while production was up, US Energy Information Administration (EIA) data revealed on Wednesday.
Ethanol stocks stood at 18.20m bbl in the week ended 5 August, down by 4% from 18.90m bbl in the previous week.
Meanwhile, ethanol production averaged 908,000 bbl/day, up by 3% from 878,000 bbl/day a week earlier.
Ethanol for September settled at $2.702/gal on Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade, down from $2.72/gal a week earlier.
