SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Zhejiang Julong Petrochemical is planning to in 2013 start up its new propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant, which will eventually be able to produce 1.2m tonnes/year of propylene, company and market sources said on Monday.
During the first phase of the project, the producer will bring on stream around 450,000 tonnes/year of propylene capacity. The remaining 750,000 tonnes/year of propylene capacity is expected to come on stream before 2014, the sources added.
“The propylene produced will be sold in the [Chinese domestic] market because they have no plans to start up downstream units,” said a company source.
Zhejiang Julong Petrochemical is a newly established private company located at China’s Zhejiang Pinghu Dushan Harbor Chemical Industry Park.
