US Q2 propylene output climbs 0.3% year on year – NPRA

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US second-quarter propylene production was 7.95bn lb (3.61m tonnes), a 0.3% increase from 7.93bn lb one year earlier, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) said on Tuesday.

Propylene output in the second quarter climbed by 2.1% from 7.79bn lb in the first quarter of 2011, the NPRA said.

The figures include production of refinery-sourced and co-product propylene.

US propylene inventories in the second quarter stood at 1.43bn lb, up by 32.4% from 1.08bn lb in the first quarter, but down by 11.2% from 1.61bn lb in the same months one year earlier.

The NPRA's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
