US ethanol inventories and production fall

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories and production was lower last week, US Energy Information Administration (EIA) data revealed on Wednesday.

Ethanol inventories were at 17.9m bbl in the week ended 26 August, a 2% decline from 18.2m bbl a week earlier.

Meanwhile, domestic ethanol production averaged 888,000 bbl/day, down 2% from 904,000 bbl/day the week prior.

September ethanol settled at $2.913/gal on the Chicago Board of Trade on Wednesday, up from $2.907/gal a week before.
