China’s Luoyang Petrochemical shuts PP plant for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Luoyang Petrochemical shut its 80,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant at Henan province on 30 August for a 45-50 day turnaround, a company source said late on Wednesday.

The plant produces mainly fibre grade PP and occasionally makes film grade PP, the source said.

The shutdown will not affect the domestic PP market because of the plant’s small capacity, local distributors said.

Luoyang Petrochemical, which is a subsidiary of Sinopec, was not immediately available to comment.
