LONDON (ICIS)--The first European styrene barge contract for September has been agreed at €1,208/tonne ($1,726/tonne), down €42/tonne from the previous month, the buyer said on Thursday.

A decrease had been expected, despite tightening availability this month due to several planned turnarounds in the market, because of a €67/tonne reduction for the feedstock benzene September contract.

The settlement was made on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis. Further confirmation from the seller is pending.
