“The No 1 plant was shut down this morning, for 35-45 days [of] maintenance,” the source said.
The company, which has four MEG plants with a combined capacity of 1.8m tonnes/year, will shut down another unit “very soon”, the source added.
Nan Ya is expected to shut two MEG plants for turnaround this week.
The company's No 2 and No 3 units can each produce 360,000 tonnes/year of MEG, while its No 4 unit is the biggest, with a 720,000 tonne/year capacity.
