MOVES: BASF, Bayer CEOs elected to board of chem trade group VCI

LONDON (ICIS)--BASF CEO Kurt Bock and Bayer CEO Marijn Dekkers have been elected to the executive board of ?xml:namespace>Germany’s chemical producers trade group VCI, the group said on Friday.
Bock and Dekkers join Karl-Ludwig Kley, CEO of specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals firm Merck KGaA, as VCI vice-presidents.
Bock and Dekkers recently became CEOs of their firms, succeeding Jurgen Hambrecht at BASF, and Werner Wenning at Bayer, respectively. Hambrecht and Wenning also served as VCI vice presidents.
VCI’s executive board is headed by Klaus Engel as president. Engel, CEO of specialty chemicals major Evonik, was elected last year.
Frankfurt-based VCI represents the interests of some 1,650 chemical firms.
