HOUSTON (ICIS)--Flint Hills Resources (FHR) reported flaring from its Port Arthur cracker in Texas on Tuesday, citing maintenance on the unit's ethylene refrigerant inlet strainer.

Excess emissions from the maintenance activity were routed to the flare for destruction, the company said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

FHR has 621,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity in Port Arthur.

The company does not comment on its operations, according to a spokesperson.

Ethylene traded on Tuesday at 54.50 cents/lb ($1,202/tonne, €877/tonne) for November delivery, while September traded the previous day at 55.00 cents/lb.

($1 = €0.73)
