LONDON (ICIS)--Spolchemie has received environmental certification to produce glycerine-based epichlorohydrin (ECH-G), the Czech company said on Monday.

"We have obtained an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for glycerine based ECH, so now our patented production of both ECH and epoxy resins is certified as environmentally friendly," it said in a statement.

The majority of the ECH-G produced at Spolchemie's Usti nad Labem plant in the Czech Republic will be used for the production of glycerine based epoxy resins, the statement added.

ECH is used to make durable coatings for storage tanks, pipes, appliances and food and drink cans.
