HOUSTON (ICIS)--The blaze at a Texas chemical blender plant just south of Dallas has been extinguished, fire officials said on Tuesday.
The fire at the Magnablend facility in Waxahachie started on Monday at 11:00 hours local time and erupted into a massive plume of smoke that could be seen for miles.
Smoke still hung in the area from the smouldering remains, according to Waxahachie Fire Battalion Chief Gary Myers.
The fire department's investigation into the cause of the blaze remains ongoing, Myers said. No injuries were reported.
The fire prompted evacuations of nearby residents and businesses, but all evacuees were given notice on Monday evening that they were able to return, according to Ellis County officials.
Representatives from Magnablend, which provides custom chemical blending, manufacturing and packaging, were unable to be reached for comment.
