Unexpected shutdown at Perstorp's oxo-alcohols facility in Sweden

LONDON (ICIS)--Sweden-based Perstorp's oxo-alcohols facility in Stenungsund was unexpectedly shut down on 20 October for two days, a company source said on Thursday.

The company will continue to meet its contractual obligations until production resumes, the source added.

The outage is unlikely to have any impact on the European oxo-alcohols market, where availability is ample and trading activity remains thin on the ground.

Perstorp's oxo-alcohols facility includes a 90,000 tonne/year n-butanol unit and a 120,000 tonne/year 2-ethylhexanol unit.
