LONDON (ICIS)--OMV saw an improved petrochemical performance in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter despite a decline in olefin margins, the Austrian oil, gas and petrochemical group said in a trading statement on Friday.
The improvement stemmed from higher volumes following the conclusion of a six-week maintenance shutdown at OMV's 500,000 tonne/year ethylene (C2) plant and other petrochemical units in Schwechat, Austria, which hit volumes and operating profit in the second quarter, it added.
OMV did not release any specific figures or other details. It is scheduled to publish its full third-quarter results on 9 November.
