Ethylene Malaysia increases ethane cracker rate after restart

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--State-run Ethylene ?xml:namespace>Malaysia Sdn Bhd (EMSB) is gradually increasing production at its 400,000 tonne/year ethane cracker at Kerteh in Terengganu after restarting the plant on 18 November, a source close to the company said on Monday.
He did not reveal the specific operating rate at the plant.
The cracker was taken off line in early November because of a power failure.
EMSB is a joint venture between Malaysia's state-owned PETRONAS, Japan's Idemitsu Kosan and petrochemicals major BP.
