LONDON (ICIS)--Tikkurila is reducing its management board from eight to five members as it seeks to speed up decision-making and improve operational efficiency, the Finland-based paint producer said on Friday.

From 1 January, Tikkurila’s management board will include Erkki Jarvinen, CEO and president; Janno Paju, chief commercial officer; Jukka Havia, chief financial officer; Petri Miettinen, group vice president of supply chain management; Kenneth Sundberg, group vice president or research and development.

Paju will be responsible for Tikkurila’s sales and marketing operations, with directors of geographical areas and group marketing reporting to him.

Tikkurila said that Ilpo Jousimaa, who was responsible for central and eastern Europe, resigned from the board and the company, effective 2 December.

Arto Lehtinen would no longer be on the management board but he will continue to be responsible for Tikkurila’s sales and marketing operations in Finland.

On its website, Tikkurila also lists Niklas Frisk as a management board member with responsibility for Scandinavia. The company did not say whether Frisk left Tikkurila.
