China’s Sichuan Golden Elephant starts up Xinjiang melamine line

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sichuan Golden Elephant Chemical Industry Group has achieved on-spec product at its new 120,000 tonne/year melamine line in Xinjiang, a company source said on Monday.

The line is the first phase of a project to produce 200,000 tonnes/year of melamine in China’s northwestern province of Xinjiang, the source said.

An 80,000 tonne/year melamine line that will complete the project is due for start-up next year, the source said.

No exact date was provided for the operation of the second unit.
