SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Xinjiang Guanghui Industry has completed construction of its coal-based methanol and dimethyl ether (DME) units at Hami in the northwestern Xinjiang region, a company source said on Thursday.

The coal-based complex will annually produce 1.2m tonnes of methanol and 850,000 tonnes of DME. It will also produce 500m cubic metres of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other coal by-products, the source added.

A completion ceremony for the units was held on 7 December, the source said.

The source did not provide the exact start-up date of the project.
