HOUSTON (ICIS)--US October nylon 6 and nylon 6,6 imports fell by 26% year on year, with 6,380 tonnes received, compared with 8,622 tonnes in October 2010, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
Canada and Germany, the largest suppliers of nylon to the US, sent about half as much material as they did a year ago. They also sent fewer volumes month on month.
Exports were up by 1% year on year to 52,090 tonnes from 51,579 tonnes in October 2010.
More material was sent to Belgium, China, Mexico, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. There were fewer exports year on year to Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore. Month on month, exports decreased by 7% from 56,033 tonnes in September 2011.
