SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenchi Petrochemical plans to shut down its 300,000 tonnes/year gas fractionation unit at Dongying, eastern Shandong province, for a week from Monday, a company source said.

“Besides the gas fractionation unit, all the upstream units will be also shut down at the same time [on 12 December],” the source added.

Ahead of the shutdown the daily output of propylene was in the range of 150-200 tonnes, according to the source.

The shutdown is not likely to have any impact on the propylene market as domestic propylene supply is quite sufficient, market sources said.
