DUBAI (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia-based Petro Rabigh plans to switch one of its linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plants at Rabigh to easy-processing polyethylene (EPPE) production in 2013, a company source said on Wednesday.
The Sumitomo Chemical and Saudi Aramco joint venture complex currently has two LLDPE plants at Rabigh, each with a 300,000 tonne/year capacity, the company source said.
Petro Rabigh’s EPPE plant will have the capacity to produce 200,000-300,000 tonnes/year of material, he said.
EPPE resin can substitute low density PE (LDPE) in many applications, he added.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the 6th GPCA (Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association) Forum, which is being held in ?xml:namespace>
