SINGAPORE (ICIS)--An explosion occurred late on 4 January at Jiaxing Xianyang Chemical Factory’s plant at the Nanhu district of Jiaxing in China’s Zhejiang province, state-run media Xinhua reported on Thursday.
The blast, which occurred at around 21:50 hours local time (13:50 GMT), killed three workers and injured four others, according to the report.
The resultant fire from the explosion has been brought under control, Xinhua said.
The local government said investigations of the cause of the explosion are underway, the report added.
The local environmental protection department said there was no pollution detected at the plant or its surroundings, according to Xinhua.
