SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>South Korea’s Samsung Chemical is planning to shut its 50,000 tonne/year aromatic solvent oil unit at Daesan from early April for maintenance, a company source said on Monday.
The maintenance is scheduled to last two months, said the source, adding that the company will sell inventories during the period.
Market sources said the shutdown will reduce China supply by around 2,000 tonnes a month in April and May, and thus bolster prices of aromatic solvent oils in the domestic markets.
Samsung Chemical mainly produces No 100 and No 150 solvent oil products at the Daesan site.
