Poland’s chemical output in December grows 15.5%

LONDON (ICIS)--Poland’s production of chemicals and chemical products during December 2011 rose 15.5% year on year, the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.

Overall, Polish industrial production in December was up 7.7% compared with the same month in 2010, but was down 4.9% from November 2011, it added.

There were year-on-year production increases in 26 of the 34 recorded industrial segments, the GUS said.

One of the biggest output increases in December was in furniture manufacturing. GUS’s statistics showed a year-on-year improvement of 22.9%.

Construction output rose 14.6% year on year, the statistical office added.
