US Dec propylene output falls 6% year on year - consultant

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene production in December totalled 925m lb (420,000 tonnes), a 6.0% drop from 984m lb produced in the same month in 2010, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Wednesday.

However, propylene production in December rose by 5.4% compared with 877m lb in November, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.

If measured on a daily rate, propylene production in the US last month climbed by 2.0% versus November, according to the report.

US crackers operated at 94.3% of capacity in December. The figure is up from 92.2% in November and 90.2% in December 2010, the report showed.
