HOUSTON (ICIS)--ExxonMobil’s Baytown plant in Texas experienced flaring as a result of process contamination, the US-based company reported on Tuesday.

The flaring began at about 10:50 hours Houston time (16:50 GMT) and ended at 15:00 Houston time, according to a report that ExxonMobil filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

“Immediate actions were taken to reduce rates,” the filing said. “There was no impact on production, and all customer needs were met.”

The facility produces butadiene (BD), ethylene, polypropylene (PP) and propylene, as well as other products, according to ICIS plants and projects.
