US propylene inventories drop 4.7% to 5.011m bbl

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories fell by 4.7% in the last week of January, government data revealed on Wednesday, also showing a small drop in operating rates at US refineries.

US refineries operated at 81.8% of capacity last week, down from 82.2% a week earlier, Energy Information Administration (EIA) figures showed.

EIA figures refer to non-fuel refinery-sourced propylene.

Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) for February was offered on Wednesday at 66.50 cents/lb ($1,466/tonne, €1,114/tonne) with no bids.

RGP traded last week at 64 cents/lb.
