China’s May LLDPE futures fall slightly amid stable spot prices

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) futures have fallen slightly amid stable spot prices, industry sources said on Thursday.

China’s May LLDPE futures, the most actively traded contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), closed at yuan (CNY) 10,240/tonne ($1,623/tonne) on Thursday, down by CNY5/tonne from the settlement price of CNY10,245/tonne on 1 February.

Around 1.87m tonnes of LLDPE, or 749,000 contracts, for delivery in May were traded on Thursday, according to DCE data.

Spot LLDPE prices in eastern China are unchanged at CNY9,700-9,850/tonne from the prices on 1 February, a major trader based in Ningbo said.
