HOUSTON (ICIS)--US 2-eythylhexanol (2-EH) exports for 2011 were up by 12% from 2010, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
US 2011 2-EH exports increased to 79,307 tonnes, from 70,764 tonnes in 2010.
Exports increased last year as a result of increased global demand for downstream products such as flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC), market sources said.
Exports in December fell to 8,203 tonnes from 9,540 tonnes in November, but were up from 3,936 tonnes in December 2010, the ITC said.
