China’s Shanghai Huayi eyes acetic acid plant start-up in H2 March

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Huayi Group is planning to start up its new 500,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant at Wuwei in Anhui province in the second half of March this year, a company source said on Monday.

“The plant is undergoing trial runs now and may start up in the second half of March,” the source said, adding that this schedule is subject to change.

Shanghai Huayi Group currently operates two acetic acid production lines with a total annual production capacity of 700,000 tonnes at its Wujing site in Shanghai.

Other key producers in China include Celanese, BP, Jiangsu Sopo, Henan Shunda, Yankuang Cathay Coal Chemicals, Hebei Yingdu Gasification Co and Hualu Hengsheng.
