SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tongling Tongguanshan Chemical Industry is running one of its 500,000 tonne/year sulphuric acid units at Tongling in Anhui province at full capacity after restarting it on 19 February, a company source said on Monday.

The unit was restarted as demand has grown because of the peak fertilizer consumption season, the source said.

The pyrite-based sulphuric acid producer shut the unit on 5 November last year because of weak demand, the source said.

Tongling Tongguanshan Chemical Industry is operating another 500,000 tonne/year sulphuric acid unit at the same site at 100%, the source added.
