SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy has brought forward a turnaround of its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Kawasaki by a few days, a company source said on Tuesday.

The cracker will now be shut on 10 August instead of 12 August as originally planned and will restart on 27 September, the source said.

He did not give any reasons for the slight change in dates.

An olefins conversion unit (OCU) at the same site will also be shut for scheduled maintenance from 1 August to early October, the source added.

The OCU can produce around 140,000 tonnes/year of propylene.
