ORLANDO, Florida (ICIS)--The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) on Thursday laid out several priorities for the US ethanol industry.
They include making higher blends of ethanol and other biofuels more widely available, building cellulosic ethanol facilities, expanding markets abroad and growing political and public support on the home front for ethanol and other biofuels.
RFA president Bob Dinneen highlighted these priorities in his state of the industry presentation that kicked off the 2011 National Ethanol Conference in Orlando, Florida.
"The current fracking frenzy will cool and folks will put things back in perspective, including a world big enough for unconventional oil, conventional biofuels and emerging advanced and cellulosic biofuels," he said. "But it will take time and effort."
