SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Qatar Petrochemical Co (QAPCO) will start-up its new 300,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant, LDPE-3, at Mesaieed in Qatar in the second quarter of this year, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.
The plant’s start-up was brought forward from December last year and is scheduled to start-up in the early part of the second quarter, the source said without elaborating on the reasons for the delay.
QAPCO's two existing 200,000 tonne/year LDPE units at the same site are operating at full capacity, the source added.
