HOUSTON (ICIS)--Oxea’s US butyl acetate (butac) and butanol plant in Texas will go down for scheduled maintenance in late April, a market source said on Tuesday.
The source did not specify whether the maintenance at the Bay City, Texas, unit would last for two or four weeks, which is the general time period of most turnarounds.
Oxea officials did not return calls immediately.
Oxea’s Bay City butac plant has a capacity of 80,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects. The butanol capacity is 230,000 tonnes/year.
Major US producers of butyl acetate include Oxea, Dow Chemical and Eastman Chemical.
