MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Eastern China-based Wuxi Baichuan Chemical Industrial Co plans to start up its new 300,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac)/butyl acetate (butac) swing plant at ?xml:namespace>
The company plans to produce 100,000 tonnes/year of etac and 200,000 tonnes/year of butac when the plant begins commercial operation, said the official.
“Construction of the facility is complete, and we plan to start test runs in April, for commercial start-up in May or June,” added the official.
The company currently operates a 200,000 tonne/year etac/butac swing plant at Jiangyin, also in
Butac, which is derived from acetic acid and n-butanol (NBA), is mainly used in the manufacturing of paints and coatings for the furniture, construction and automotive sectors.
