Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals to shut Osaka BPA plant in June

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals will shut its 65,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant in Osaka in June for annual maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant, which is currently running at full capacity, will be shut on 25 June and remain off line until 20 July, the source said.
Meanwhile, the company's 90,000 tonne/year BPA plant in Chiba is scheduled to be shut for annual maintenance from 22 October to 29 November this year, according to the source.
The BPA plant in Chiba is operating at 50% of capacity because of poor economics, the source added.By: Liu Xin+65 6780 4359
