SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Dow AgroSciences has sold its European Dithane fungicide business to India-based specialty chemicals maker Indofil Industries for an undisclosed fee, the firm said on Monday.

The agreement includes only Dithane products sold in Europe, said Dow AgroSciences, a division of US-based Dow Chemical, in a statement.

“Dow AgroSciences remains committed to the Dithane business in other parts of the world where we have production assets and are better able to compete over time,” said David Hindes, Dow AgroSciences’ global fungicide business leader.

“This divestment will allow us to focus our European investment on new novel chemistries in the future,” Hindes added.
