HOUSTON (ICIS)--US February styrene contract prices settled up by 4 cents/lb ($88/tonne, €66/tonne) on average, according to market participants on Friday, citing the 50-cent/gal increase in February benzene contracts.
The increase takes February styrene prices up to 70–74 cents/lb FOB (free on board).
The settlements come a week after initial February styrene settlements were first reported up 3.50–5.00 cents/lb.
Final February styrene settlements were also below producers’ 7-cent/lb price increase nominations.Producers have already come out with March styrene contract increase nominations of 2–3 cents/lb, on the back of a 3-cent/gal increase in the March benzene contract.
