SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s TPT Petrochemicals, a subsidiary of Indorama Ventures, restarted its 540,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Map Ta Phut on 18 March after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said on Monday.

“The plant was restarted yesterday, and the operating rate of this plant is gradually increasing,” the source said, adding it will take two to three days to make the plant run at full capacity.

The plant was shut on 26 February for a three-week turnaround.

TPT Petrochemical, previously owned by Taiwan’s Tuntex Petrochemical, was acquired by Indorama Ventures Ltd (IVL) in September 2010.
