HOUSTON (ICIS)--The US International Trade Administration (ITA) will impose tariffs of 2.94.73% on solar panels made in China, the government agency said on Tuesday.

Photovoltaic cells are made with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and metal pastes.

The US will impose the tariffs to offset what it said are subsidies that Chinese manufacturers receive, the agency said.

Meanwhile, the US could impose more tariffs after it completes an antidumping investigation, the ITA said. The agency could announce a decision on 17 May.

The ITA started the investigation after a petition was filed by SolarWorld Industries Americas, which calls itself the largest solar manufacturer in the US.
