SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s PETRONAS shut its 300,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) plant at Kuantan in Pahang state on 28 March for a five-day inspection, a company source said on Thursday.
“We were supposed to shut the plant on 17 March but we delayed it a little because we had to fulfil some additional blending demand,” the source said.
The plant is expected to be restarted on 2 April, the source added.
