SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy is keeping its 127,000 bbl/day refinery in Marifu following a power outage on 26 March, a company source said on Thursday.

The source said the company is still investigating the cause of the power loss within the refinery and added that it was unclear when the facility will be restarted.

JX Nippon Oil & Energy, Japan’s largest refiner, restarted the Marifu refinery on 9 March following the completion of scheduled maintenance, which started on 4 February.

The units at the Marifu facility include a 127,000 bbl/day crude distillation unit (CDU), two vacuum distillation units with a combined capacity of 75,000 bbl/day, a 28,000 bbl/day fluid catalytic cracker (FCC), two delayed cokers with a combined capacity of 22,000 bbl/day and a 24,000 bbl/day naphtha reformer.
