SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japanese refiner Cosmo Oil plans to shut down a crude distillation unit (CDU) at its 175,000 bbl/day Yokkaichi refinery for maintenance in the fourth quarter of 2012, a company source said on Thursday.
Cosmo Oil will shut down the 90,000 bbl/day CDU no 5 at the Yokkaichi refinery on 1 October and the unit will remain off line until 14 November, the source added.
During the shutdown other units at the refinery will continue to operate. Other facilities at the site include the 85,000 bbl/day CDU no 6; the14,000 bbl/day vacuum distillation unit (VDU) no 3; the 60,000 bbl/day VDU no 4; a 31,000 bbl/day fluid catalytic cracker, and two naphtha reformers with a combined capacity of around 19,500 bbl/day.
