China methanol imports in February down by 2.18% month on month

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China imported 391,400 tonnes of methanol in February, a decrease of 2.18% month on month and an increase of 41.8% year on year, at an average import price of $379.25/tonne (€284.44/tonne), according to data from China Customs.

Total methanol imports in the first two months of 2012 rose by 18.3% year on year to 791,500 tonnes, according to the data.

China imported 167,665 tonnes, 83,305 tonnes, and 41,025 tonnes of methanol from, Iran, Oman and Saudi Arabia, respectively, its top three sources of methanol imports, the data showed.
