SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiujiang Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, has shut its 1m tonne/year coking unit at Jiujiang in Jiangxi following a fire on 5 April, a company source said on Friday.

The fire started in the afternoon and was extinguished half an hour later without resulting in any casualty.

Operations at all other units, including a 130,000 bbl/day refinery and auxiliary units, are normal, according to the source.

The company is planning to restart the coking unit on Saturday, the source said.
